Occasion: Combat situations or other situations in
hostile territory when serving as part of an Orion Arm Treaty Organization (OATO) Peacekeeping or multinational force.
Cover: Standard cover with an OATO blue cockade, or an OATO blue beret with the RNS silver insignia.
Sword: Sword is optional with this uniform for those
officers for whom a sword would be issued. A sidearm is normally
worn with the field uniform. The RNS-issue survival knife is worn in the boot when appropriate.
Description: A navy blue jacket with white lapels,
with a silver Sivadian navy crest on the left chest, worn over an OATO blue mock turtleneck. A black
web belt is worn around the waist.
Medical personnel wear the white red cross brassard on their
upper left arm, and all other personnel wear the OATO blue brassard with white OATO insignia. The uniform is worn with black fatigue pants,
tucked into high black boots.
Rank Insignia: Stripes are worn on the
upper right sleeve - four stripes for captain, three for
commanders and Surgeons-Commander, two for first lieutenants
and senior civilian officers, and one stripe for lieutenants.
Acting lieutenants and midshipman wear one narrow stripe.
