Occasion: While aboard ship or planetside. This uniform
is authorized for midshipmen and cadets on active duty.
Cover: A cocked hat with a white cockade fastened
to the hat by a silver button.
Sword: Midshipmen are not issued swords, but the
wear of the midshipman's dirk is authorized.
Description: A short navy blue jacket single breasted
jacket over a grey waistcoat and white shirt with black
cravat. The jacket is untrimmed, and has one row of silver
buttons. The coat is accompanied by black
trousers and boots.
