Occasion: While aboard ship or planetside. This uniform
is authorized for all civilian officers.
Cover: A black cocked hat with a white cockade fastened
to the hat by a silver button.
Sword: Officer's smallsword is authorized for Surgeons-Commander.
Other civilian officers are not issued swords..
Description: A navy blue frock coat over a light-grey
waistcoat and a white shirt with black cravat. The facings
on the jacket are navy blue trimmed with silver, with silver
buttons running the front. The cuffs of the coat bear silver
buttons with one stripe for civilian officers of less than
three years service, two stripes for those of more than three
years service, and three stripes for surgeons-commander.
The coat is accompanied by black knee breeches, stockings,
and shoes. Shoebuckles are optional, and white breeches are
optional in summer.
