Occasion: Appropriate for all occasions when another uniform is not authorized for officers of the Royal Naval Aerospace Service.
Cover: Standard cover in RNAS brown.
Sword: Sword is optional with this uniform.
Description: A khaki frock coat with a single row of brass metallic buttons and subdued lace on the pockets. Three brass buttons are on each cuff along with appropriate rank lace for the officer. Wings or brevet are worn as approprate on the left breast. The frock coat is worn with a long khaki waistcoat, a white shirt, and a black cravat. Dark khaki breeches or jodsphurs are worn with brown wellington boots.
Rank Insignia: Pilot Officer's wear one narrow stripe of lace. Flying officers wear one standard stripe, Flight Lieutenants one standard under one narrow stripe, Squadron Leaders two standard stripes, Wing Commanders three stripes, and Group Captains four stripes.
