The Royal Naval Service has, almost since its inception, engaged
of the practice of paying a prize for captured ships. The Admiralty
pays will pay for the value of the ship, the cargo, and a bounty
of up to ¥10 for all captured crew. Prize money is divided between
all RNS ships within sensor range at the time of surrender. The
sum is then divided as follows:
