Biohazard suit

The biohazard suit is worn in dangerous environments with a serious possibility of contracting a communicable disease.

The suit is made of an orange plastic that is difficult to pierce. If punctured, the skin will repair itself within several seconds. However, care is still indicated to maintain the integrity of the suit. The suit includes a back-mounted filtration system. The officer's name is printed on a tag on the front of the helmet.

Public Health Service officers are to wear identification cards clipped to the suit's utility belt for ease of identification. The crest-and-shield device of the Public Health Service is worn on both upper arms.

The visor of the helmet is transparent as patients are more comfortable when they can see care providers' faces.

White reflective stripes on both arms indicate the officer's rank. The image to left depicts the uniform of a Director.
