DHS suspends Regisan from market
21 July 3005 — As public health officials gear up for a potential ATRV crisis on Sivad, hundreds of thousands of patients are facing problems of their own. The Drug Safety Authority suspended sales of Regisan Saturday, forcing patients who suffer from Isherwood syndrome to switch to other drugs.
Isherwood syndrome is a chronic disease that afflicts about five per cent of the Sivadian population. Its symptoms are a little like arthritis, but are easily controlled through medication.
When it was approved for sale in 3001, Regisan was hailed for being a less expensive alternative to existing drugs with a lower possibility of side effects. The Drug Safety Authority has not released any information relating to the suspension, saying only that the drug was being suspended while regulators examine new evidence concerning its safety. A full statement has been promised once the ATRV epidemic has been contained.
